Not everyone is born lucky. Some are healthy, some are disabled, some are sick, one of them is Patrice Christabel Kurniawan, a beautiful daughter born in Surabaya, November 2, 2006, who is now 14 years old.

The second daughter of four children, the couple Paulus Kurniawan and Hana Yuniati, attended Petra Christian School, Dukuh Kupang Barat 19/19. Patrice, as her is usually called, really likes painting, it can even be said that painting is her hobby. Because of that, she also had a strong dream to become a professional painter. She was very thorough. Although she also has a quiet nature.

Patrice’s parents, Paulus Kurniawan and Hana Yuniati told eBahana.com via their cellular, said that at first Patrice only complained that her legs were often tired and achy. “Because of this complaint, we finally took him to a physiotherapy doctor for therapy, but the stiffness never subsided,” said Paulus.

Hana replied, finally the doctor suggested an X-ray and MRI. “From there the doctor immediately convicted Patrice of suffering from osteosarcoma,” said Hana. Paulus also said that he and his wife had been devastated because as far as they knew osteosarcoma is a bone cancer that attacks human bone cells, it must undergo treatment such as chemotherapy and surgery.

“To be sure, we then went to the hospital in Singapore at the same time to find out a more accurate diagnosis whether Patrice was really suffering from osteosarcoma. And it turns out that the Singapore doctor’s diagnosis also states the same thing,” admitted Paulus. However, Paul and Hannah believed that the whole journey of human life was in God’s hands.

“Praise God, as long as Patrice’s treatment is fine, everything is going well. Only financial constraints prevent us from completing Patrice’s treatment. Understandably, treatment abroad requires a very large cost, “said Paulus.

Hana also said that she and her husband were very happy, strengthened in our faith and hope in the Lord Jesus through the ministry of the Friends of the Sick (SOS) Team in Singapore. “It turns out that through this incident, we can strengthen each other. There are many things that make changes in our family, especially the hope of God’s love if all this happens is because of His grace,” added Hana.

Now Patrice’s condition is getting better and better and his health is getting better. “We now know that as long as there is the Lord Jesus in our lives, it is God’s power that enables us to live our lives. Even in the midst of a storm of difficulties, we believe that everything will be good for those who love Him, ”said Hana again.

It was also explained that in the midst of improving conditions, Patrice wanted to become a professional artist or painter. “Through his paintings, Patrice wants to be a blessing to others with his talents,” said Hana. (JFMP)
