Since the Makassar City SOS began to have a network, many patients have received special attention, but from the patients treated, from Ambon City, M Transportana, Palopo, and Makassar Areas, from rented boarding houses, food and drinking needs, transportation to hospitals, and services other, requires a lot of money. So it occurred to SOS Makassar, and the East Indonesia SOS board, to have a shelter in order to facilitate SOS services in Makassar City, especially for patients who are referred, who cannot afford, have no family in Makassar. With the mediation of the regional leader with one of God’s children who sincerely wanted to help SOS and the coordination of SOS Makassar, the shelter can be realized, and it can be inaugurated at this time by the Founder of SOS International, Reverend Stefanus Wijaya at Bonerate Street 22 Makassar (02/12/19).

According eBahana when the inauguration ceremony was held, the chairman of SOS Makassar, Yasin Effrien Boernardi in his brief direction said that, after going through SOS prayers and murmuring, so that through one of God’s children, Nelvy Lianto, our ministry was helped, who lent his house to be used as a house. a stopover for patients served by SOS, do not have a place to stay during referral to the hospital in Makassar city. “We are grateful after providing services and seeing that many people who were unable when they were referred to Makassar, did not have a place to live, through Nelvy, we were able to get this place for free, we use this opportunity as much as possible, we are very grateful to all those who “We have helped us, both in the renovation process, furniture and equipment assistance, as well as this inauguration event. We hope that this support does not end here but, there can still be people who are motivated by this service that has God,” he hoped.

Meanwhile, Reverend Stefanus Wijaya, in his sermon, which tells the Bible story, how the miracle of God made the five loaves and two fish that were brought by a child, turned into the remaining twelve baskets, after being eaten by five thousand people. He said that if he served the sick in the hospital and at shelter house, he did not only provide a place, but he had to strengthen them, pray for them every morning, to be strong in facing every challenge. “I believe, there is a big plan from God, not just this little house. If we look at this place, it is far from perfect, but we do not bring humanity to our heart’s pride but bring it to God, with all simplicity, declaring that this is the ability we have, what it is with humility, ”he said.

According to him, talking about humility, our hearts that want to serve God, pay a price, because as long as we have a heart that is full of humility, this place is not only one, but two, three, four, five, and this is a way to be transmitted to cities in other regions. “When we serve with humility and humility, not being arrogant, we will get more shelters. This is the first projectfor SOS around the world, this method will become an example, and hopefully it will spread to other cities,” he explained.

He further said, God blessed five loaves and two fish, by giving thanks to His Father, as well as with SOS, must be grateful for the space that has been provided, let God who acts and works, steps in faith, undoubtedly will get the best.

Wijaya also shared experiences, himself and his family, providing the main room and other rooms, in Singapore it is used when there are patients and academies who live, even he and his family have to sleep in the living room, because for him the patient is the most important, SOS must be ready to sacrifice in anywhere and anytime.

“I emphasize again, a heart that is full of humility, a heart that is grateful, a heart that believes gets the best, our Lord is a wonderful God. Next year there are God’s even more miraculous ways, to bless the place so that it becomes comfortable, we believe this house will be a blessing house for many people, especially the existing patients, and when they are cured, they can be a blessing for many people. too, “he said.

This event was marked by cutting tumpeng by Reverend Stefanus Wijaya, and eat together as well as visit and pray in each room in the halfway house building, and take a group photo. (JFMP)
